Welcome back!

We are so happy that school is back in session. We've missed the families and children that took the summer off. It's good to be back.

This first week of school is going well. The weather is lovely, the garden is full of delicious veggies that the children have been sampling and everyone is eager and excited to learn.

Thank you parents for making time this week to attend our Primary and Elementary Orientation nights.

Thank you for all you do! Check back here and on our calendar as we ramp up for the school year and start posting our monthly activities.

Enjoy your weekend.

The Rose Hill Montessori Staff

Thank you!

This year was our 20th year of Fiesta celebrations at Rose Hill Montessori! It was such a wonderful night of food, performances, face painting and our Raffle fundraiser! Thank you to all that attended, and to the new and alumni families that joined us. We are already excited about the Fiesta celebration next year!

Book It Forward!

Right after Spring Break, Rose Hill will do a book drive for Book-It Forward! Idaho.

From March 28 through April 8, bring any lightly used (or new) children’s books that your children have outgrown to the school and place them in a collection box in one of the classrooms.  They can be simple preschool readers to early teen books.

The volunteers from Book-It Forward! will pick-up the books, clean and sort them and get them to children who have little access to reading materials at home. For more information on Book It Forward! Click here.

Please consider the following:

  •  61% of low income homes have no children’s books in their homes.
  •  Children who only read in school will rarely be great readers.  Time spent in school is usually enough to learn to read, but not nearly enough to become proficient at reading.
  •  Children who do not become proficient readers by third grade fall behind in all subject areas.

After this book drive you can continue to help by donating your children’s books at the Y Downtown and West, the Cabin Literary Center (801 S. Capital), and United Way of Treasure Valley (3100 S. Vista).

Sincere Thanks for your contributions!

Upcoming Field Trips!

This Thursday the lower elementary will be going to the Boise Art Museum for an Environment tour, "Students learn about weather systems and environment through the exhibition Weather or Not which examines the relationship between humans and nature. In the studios, students incorporate elements of nature in their own artwork."

On Thursday, March 3, the primary classroom will be going to the Idaho Aquarium for a fun guided tour.

Enjoy the sunny week!
